Jim and I are currently lucky enough to have two permanent cats (Jinian and Hayama) and three temporary ones (Torch, the orange kitten, and the black kitten), plus the lovely memory of a now-gone cat (Michiru). As our cats are clearly the best, most adorable cats in the world, it is only right and fitting that they have their pictures up on the web.

• This is the earliest picture I have of Michiru, taken by Ambar in June of 1999, when she was about a month old.
• When Jim and I first met Michiru, we had to find out if she was a shoulder cat. Oh, was she ever.
